Sundresses
For me the only resort I'm interested in at this time of year is one where the sun is going to shine each and every day. Where I can beach it in the morning and wear a pretty little sundress later and at the end of the day dress up a little and dance maybe. Sound good?
It's funny other than beach coverups, sundresses are a little hard to find. I found this cutie at ShopBop which i can usually rely on for my kind of clothes. This is a dress by Cynthia Vincent in the grouping she has called 12th Street.
It's a halter minidress In a silk print, nice and bright in red with ruching at bust and bottom hem. Gathered elastic banding and ruching at back and solid banding at neckline. 1.5" straps tie behind neck. It's ShopBop's item TWELF20108
and priced at $234.00. Nice and short at 32". This will work well for me on my trip to the Caribbean.
Maybe a couple more to fill out what I think I need. Here's an absolutely adorable tube dress that really is simple and effective for a little later in the day. An early cocktail perhaps on your terrace. It's a Corsica Tube Dress by Ella Moss. Wear it with a big bracelet and skimpy sandals. Crocheted tube, smocked elastic bodice and ruching at empire waist. Ruffle trim at bottom hem. Lined. In a pale chamomile polyester/cotton blend. ShopBop's item ELLAM20171 $220. That one is a definite winner.
Alright back to a daytime shortie in a bold print It's a Charlotte Ronson Print Shirtdress Print cotton-gauze dress with solid fold-over collar and 6-button closure at front. Solid banding at placket and button-flap pockets at bust. Inverted pleat and button-tab detail at back. 3" cuff at 3/4 sleeves. Semi-sheer. Item #CHARR20043 $200. A nice bright sunny dress for day wear.
Now while it's not "sun" lets find a stunner for cocktails, dinner and dancing. Short or long? Well, I'll look! OK I'm surprised but I love this long print by Rachel Pally. A bold black and white dress in a strapless, print-jersey with ruching at empire waist. Unfinished bottom hem. 54" long 92% modal/8% spandex. ShopBop item # RPALL20159 Price: $228.00.
For that last dress, I'll need a pair of elegant Italian black sandals. I'll probably find some at ShopBop while I'm here. how about these? Kate Spade Lolita Satin Strappy Sandal. Satin sandal with knot detail at vamp and buckle at ankle strap. 3.5" covered heel. Leather lining and sole. ShopBop item # KATES20000 and priced at $275.00 Very nice.
