In Fashion Swimwear
I need to shop for my trip next week to Barbados. We're headed to Little Good Harbor. It looks really cute but I wonder if there'll be enough action for me once the first blush of R and R wears off. We'll see and I'll report back later. I need a couple of bathing suits, a couple of beach wraps, a sun hat, sunglasses and some dresses for partying at night.
I just found Venus Swimwear online and as you'd expect their line is primarily beach and pool oriented but they do have a whole range of clothes that I think are very resort suitable. I'm going to try them and see how the offerings are in the flesh, so to speak! Here's a saucy bikini for instance. A violet cheetah underwire triangle top that has the shape of a triangle top with the support of underwires and contoured cup seams for shaping. There are pockets with removable push-up pads in sizes A-C ties behind the neck with spaghetti straps and a new bra hook closure. It's Venus style #V1188 Nylon/spandex tricot. The bottom is a violet cheetah brazil bottom with what Venus calls brief Brazilian rear coverage and a scoop front, high cut legs. Style #V2238 Cost of the whole outfit $72. I think it's a good start to the week!
And here's another one from Venus. This time a one piece, although you'd hardly know that to be honest. Venus' Jaguar sexy cutout one piece with a contoured bust shaping cup seams for a second skin fit and comfortable sash ties behind neck and back. The suit has open sides and back which is really good. Style #V3568 Priced at $86.
OK now for a beach wrap. This one is so-o-o pretty and rather than a beach wrap is more of a coverup that protects you or is demure enough to walk around a shop or two. It's a gypsy dress, cotton gauze, halter and is Venus style SG 500 and sells for $48. It's so different for me, this one!
I think I need another wrap so I headed to Swimwear Boutique where I took a look at the designers and saw a really pretty cover by Melissa Oderbash. It's her long sleeve tunic Item # JAI-008, beaded along the neckline and sleeve hem with slits in the sleeves and hem line. Priced at $236. I think it's distinctive and I'll see what Barbados thinks about it.
So that should set me up for the beach, pool and lounging. Now for the evenings. Hmmm. - where to go? Well, back to Nordstrom's , my old stand by and in the resort section there's this cute little Zac Posen Dotted Line Dress. It has a side zip with button front yoke and pintuck detailing, Straight front and back neck Wide straps Full skirt with center-front inverted pleat and button detail. Striped piping. Very sharp. Nordstrom's item # 211034 and priced at $950. Unfortunately, it's a preview item of the resort collection and so isn't available yet. Just my luck but why don't you take a look and see what I mean. Maybe you want to put your name down for this.
Keep going and see if I can find one that is available right away. And here is a good one I think. It's a flirty Brunya Camisole Top Beaded Dress with a gathered sheer overlay atop a spaghetti-strap camisole. Jeweled front of the inset waist, and a floaty skirt. In ivory silk, Nordstrom's item # 206996 and priced at $598.
I think the rest of the evenings I'll wear a fancy top with pants. I've got both and I should be able to ring the changes and accessorize with jewelry. Think we're all set. Phew!
